I’ve recently been delving into some pretty epic minecraft mods, however one that has caught my attention is called ToomanyItems.

Basically this goes further than single player commands and lets you simply click on a item display next to your inventory when you press “e” or which ever button you have designated for that. This eliminates the need to run a private server just for yourself as well as you can save what you have in your inventory and reload them at any time or delete all items in your inventory.

Also explains how to install however if you have Modloader it can add that as well as texture packs etc.
